Overview

Bosnia is one of the Balkans’ premier fly-fishing destinations, often called the region’s fly-fishing Mecca. Our tour explores a pristine area with over seven rivers holding wild grayling, brown trout, and huchen—an outstanding example of sustainable, nature-based tourism.

Accommodation is right on the river, with gin-clear waters, stunning scenery, and excellent local cuisine. Suitable for both beginners and experienced anglers, the trip coincides with the opening of the huchen season on June 1, offering a rare chance to achieve the Balkan Grand Slam: brown trout, grayling, and huchen.

Combined with untouched nature and authentic food, this promises to be a truly memorable experience.

Fishing Waters

Ribnik River

The Ribnik is a crystal-clear, spring-fed river originating beneath Mount Srnetica. Its constant flow, exceptional water clarity, and rich aquatic life create ideal conditions for grayling and brown trout. The river is easily accessible along its course and offers classic dry-fly and nymph fishing in a wide, chalkstream-like setting.

Pliva River

The Pliva is another spring-fed river offering approximately 8 km of outstanding fly fishing for grayling and brown trout. Known for its beauty and healthy fish population, it regularly produces large grayling and trophy trout, making it one of the most renowned rivers in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Sana River

The Sana is a superb sight-fishing river with an exceptional grayling population and wild brown trout. Light tackle, small flies, and technical presentations define the fishing here. The river is also home to wild Huchen, offering the opportunity to pursue the final and most challenging species of the Balkan Grand Slam.
