Our sport is gaining popularity and even becoming a modern trend nowadays. At Mankov Fly Fishing Ltd., we love to teach fly fishing and educate present and future anglers willing to learn, so we decided to start organizing fly fishing courses separate from our guiding work. The training is suitable for both complete beginners and advanced in fly fishing. The courses will be held at a place agreed in advance by you and us – typically a Trout River in Bulgaria where, according to the chosen date, you would have the best chance of success. There are fixed dates for the courses every year, which take place in Bulgaria. If you and your friends are interested in participating in a course with us at a different place, do not hesitate to contact us to discuss options, availability, and costs.
Basic Trout Fly Fishing Course
During this course, you will be able to learn how to cast a fly rod – basic and advanced casts, and how to assemble your gear and line and choose the right fly according to the relevant conditions. The course generally includes detailed explanations of successful dry-fly and nymph-fishing techniques for trout. Proper, ethical handling of fish and effective catch-and-release practices. You will be acquainted with the main representatives of aquatic insects inhabiting the rivers. We will gladly answer all your questions about fly fishing, the river, and its inhabitants.
The course is also suitable for children under 18, but only with an escort.
After a preliminary appointment, we will decide whether we will pick you up or meet you directly on the river. The course will take 8 hours on the river with a one-hour break for lunch.
If you do not have your equipment, you can rent it from us for 15 € per person per day. The equipment includes a fly fishing rod, reel, line, everything necessary for the day, and high boots with a strap-on for a belt. If you require boots, please let us know your shoe size, and don’t forget to wear a belt.
The course is a great gift for any avid angler!
The course will be held with at least two and up to four registered candidates.
Price:
- 150 € per person in a group of two.
- 130 € per person in a group of three.
- 120 € per person in a group of four.
The price includes:
- A full-day (8 hours) course in fly fishing led by a certified guide and instructor, Stanislav Mankov.
- Photos and videos from the day.
The price does not include:
- Food and drinks.
- Transport to the place of fishing.
- The cost of the fishing license for the day.
- Fishing equipment and flies (available on request).
